ARCASIA Committee on Social Responsibility Round-table Discussion

The 9th ACSR Round-Table Discussion was hosted by the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA), under the theme of “CHALLENGES OF CLIMATE CHANGE” on Friday, 23rd February 2018 at Hotel Jaic Hilton, Union Place, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

ARCASIA President, ARCASIA Hony. Secretary and 09 ARCASA Member countries were participated to the event.

Archt.Veranjan Kurukulasuriya ,SVP ,SLIA introduced the theme, background and the vitality of Climate Change Responsibility of Architects of Asia ,the magnitude of possible future refugees of unprecedented Climate change and convener Archt. Russell Dandeniya presented the importance of continuous commitment on two major areas:

1.“Climate Change Refugees ARCASIA way forward”

2.“Preservation and Conservation of Asian Heritage” and preparation of a Guide Book for the region as conveyed by incoming ARCASIA President Rita Soh.

Seeking future attention of ARCASIA activities according to the resolution adopted in Colombo.
