The scheme looks at creating a comfortable and pleasant experience for students who make use of the toilets. A functional approach of having a well-ventilated, naturally lit building helps to maintain hygiene, with the use of materials and efficient servicing facilitates for easy maintenance.

The building is designed with the intention of incorporating solar panels on the larger portion of the roof; the building thereby tries to go beyond just being a mere toilet block. Two layout options have been explored allowing the orientation of the building to be changed while modifying just the entrance portion.
